Roz Says: Welcome to 2011 – Looks Like WE Made It!

No Gravatar

Happy New Year to You and Yours!  Looks like we made it to yet another year, AND AM I HAPPY we did!!!

OH MY… All Those 1′s

Somehow… This year seems so much more exciting.  Perhaps it is the allure of all those 1′s ~ 1/1/11 or 1/11/11 or better yet 11/11/11  factor.  WOWEE… what marketers WILL do with this!

MY WISH FOR YOU, FOR US

May this year be your/OUR best year yet and may you/WE obtain all your/OUR goals and dreams.  May your/OUR blessings be so abundant they are too many to count!

NEVER GIVE UP, JUST GET BETTER

You CANNOT fail if you do not try!  You also WILL NOT be successful if you do not try! You will ALWAYS WONDER if you do not try! If you try and give up too soon, you may be walking away when success is right around the corner.

Making adjustments to those things which are not working is NOT giving up… It is GETTING BETTER!  I say this to you as much as I say it to myself.  There are some things I’ve been doing for years which have not served me well.  I complained bitterly, but I NEVER did much about it.  Why?  Perhaps I was afraid of what would happen, yet I knew what I was doing was not working. JOIN ME… TAKE CHANCES, MAKE CHANGES…  New opportunities are in the wings, just waiting for us! Things can ONLY GET BETTER! If not, WE’LL JUST TRY AGAIN! Giving up is NOT an option!

DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM

Just keep in mind… Marketers and sales people are trained in emotional marketing.  We all do it.  DO NOT LISTEN to the things YOU KNOW are meant to make you feel bad and purchase products YOU KNOW you will NEVER use.  DO LISTEN to the things that ARE TRUE!  YOU DO know the difference!

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

May your dreams be plentiful and your blessings be too many to count.

Roz Shares an Important Article: Use A Journal to Inspire Yourself into Action by Jack Canfield

No Gravatar

I received an email earlier today from Jack Canfield.  The article included discussed the process of Journaling.  I felt it that important I wanted to repost it here via the permission granted in the email. I could not have said it better myself, besides, I’ve had my own issues with Journaling.

Oddly enough when I did journal, upon re-reading at a later date, instead of celebrating the growth and accomplishments, I only saw and felt the pain.  Thus I ripped the journals to shreds thinking “who wants to keep pain?”  It’s all about mindset… I am sorry for those actions today, but understand my actions.  I call that growth! ~Roz Fruchtman

Use A Journal to Inspire Yourself into Action
by Jack Canfield

Use A Journal to Inspire Yourself Into ActionBy keeping a personal journal, you enter a sacred space. Here, you are safe from judgment and free from daily duties and cares. Here you can dream, discover, and dare to create new ways of being in the world.

Use a journal to directly reinforce the teachings of The Success Principles, and other personal learning courses.  Create a laboratory for personal transformation as you put the principles of your course into action each day. Do this by including sections in your journal for inspiration, intention, action, and growth.

Receive Inspiration

Writing captures guidance from your deepest self before it disappears.  Inspired ideas can rise to the surface of your mind in a classic “aha!” moment. This might be a solution to a persistent problem, an idea for a breakthrough goal, a powerful image, an energizing affirmation, or another sudden spark of insight. No matter what form the inspiration takes, record it in your journal.

Write about your challenges as well. Note the moments when you are not functioning at your peak—times when you feel bored, tense, angry, afraid, or sad. These feelings are clues to areas of your life ripe for transformation. In your journal, describe the discomfort in detail and how you reacted. Look for patterns. Also brainstorm new options for responding. Sometimes a moment of inspiration lies just on the other side of a tough emotion.

Form Intention

Statements of intention contain blueprints for action. This kind of journal entry offers a way to stay positive and on course, directed toward the new results you want to attract into your life.

As with writing affirmations, keep intention statements focused on what you want. “I intend to effortlessly double my income” is more effective than “I intend to stop worrying about paying my bills each month.”

Also release the word try. A statement such as “I will try to save at least 10 percent of my income each month” conveys something less than wholehearted commitment. People who continue to overspend can rationalize the result by saying, “Well, I am trying.”

A more effective option comes from Yoda, the gnomish guru in the Star Wars film trilogy: “Try not. Do, or do not. There is no try.”

While you can fill up a journal with statements of inspiration and intention, consider adding inducements to action as well. Even the most jaw-dropping insight or motivating statement of intention can fall flat when this element is missing.

Take the intention statement mentioned above: “I intend to double my income while working with joy and ease.” That’s a solid place to start. Now, pave the way for action by packing your intention full of details. Include specific goals such as “I will call fifty new customers this week” and “I will include ten new products in my next catalog.”

Celebrate Growth

Use a journal to make your own growth visible to yourself. Record the results that you experience by using The Success Principles and the Law of Attraction. Whenever a new outcome shows up in your life—whether subtle or significant—capture it in your journal.

Be specific. As your income increases, note dollar amounts. As your network of clients and job contacts grows, include names. As you resolve conflict with key people in your life, describe the words and actions that produced these breakthroughs.

Writing offers a way to lift your eyes above the steady march of daily events. When immersed in the details of work and family responsibilities, you can easily overlook change that is already manifesting in your life. Use a journal to regain perspective and literally rewrite your life.

Seeing the evidence of your personal growth recorded on the page, before your own eyes, can instantly raise your emotional vibration. And that opens a path for the cycle of inspiration, intention, action, and growth to begin all over again.

Roz Shares: I Decided NOT Too

No Gravatar

A week or so ago I decided to take 30 days to evaluate what it is I want to do and how I could fix or eliminate  those things that are not working for me.

It’s been about 10 days so far and I have not even begun to evaluate ~ thus the 30 days will be extended.  REMEMBER: This exercise was to “eliminate ALL stress and ALL pressure while making life-changing decisions!”

The first week was taken up with personal business that needed taking care of.  Ordinarily I would have been stressed just taking the time, but since I’ve “given myself the gift of time” it was not stressful at all ~a little wasteful, but not stressful.

One day was spent waiting around at a government office to have some information updated.  Just as it was my next “the computers went down!”  Since it was a long trip, I decided to hang around a bit, but they never came back up and I had to return two days later.  At which time I waited some more and when called I was told I had to come back late November.  While it was wasteful in one area, it was informative in others.  AND… I even got to get out and enjoy the wonderful New York weather and get some much needed exercise.  SEE… “I’ve already begun to put a positive spin on a negative situation.”  Just that demonstrated TO ME… I was beginning to think differently.

The past few days have been taken up with horrendous activities like: Watching TV, eating, sleeping and doing a repeat performance a few times a day ~with a little computer time in between. Don’t ya just feel sorry for me? ;)  The point is, I have not even begun to evaluate anything except the fact I’m tired and ”I just want to re-learn how to just be!” I can’t stay at the computer for more than a little while without feeling like I need to escape!  For me… just feeling that is odd.

THE GUILTS

It’s interesting…  Since I am taking this vacation of sorts “at home” I’m feeling guilty just lounging around.

IF I were away at a resort I would just veg out on a chaise lounge with NO guilt.  I wish I could figure out why relaxing when away at a resort is ok, but relaxing at home is not ~This IS VERY IMPORTANT!  What have “I done to myself?”

Adding blogging each day would just recreate the pressure I’m trying to remove.

I DECIDED NOT TOO

To eliminate any stress of “having to do ANYTHING at all” I’ve decided NOT to blog each day.  I’m  just taking notes and observing the journey.  So far “I’m just being!”  That’s not a bad place to be, but I still do not feel up to doing much more!  Thus… I decided to write this blog post to eliminate the stress of breaking the promise of blogging each day, besides some things really are personal!

Roz Shares: YOU Are the MOST IMPORTANT Person in YOUR Life!

No Gravatar

The point of this blog post is for me to share my experience in the hopes it might touch your life in a positive way.  Perhaps my rambling will touch your heart or be similar to what you are going through and help you make a small change.  The point is for YOU to be GOOD TO YOU!!!

TAKE TIME

Take time to notice ALL your accomplishments, not just the things that did not get done.  Each accomplishment builds on the other.

I WAS GOING TO

I was going to start this post with…  “I’m on Day 2 of my 30-day journey and have not gotten very far.  I take that back…I can already feel the peace re-entering my life ~ I realized this morning I was sleeping better.  I believe this is an EXCELLENT start!  We cannot make good decisions when our life is in emotional disarray!

When I did Tony Robbins course “Get The Edge” for the first time, Tony explained how we have to “condition our minds each day” as we would our body in order to keep it strong.

Eric Lofholm teaches you need to listen to his materials SEVEN (7) times.  When I first heard that I thought he was nuts. However, as time passed I realized that each time I heard the same thing “I heard it differently!” Why was it different, because I WAS different.  I WAS in a different place.  With each new thought my foundation got stronger and I became more balanced. I know this because I’ve learned to recognize when things are not really going the way I want, when my emotions and body begin to act in a negative way.  At one time I would have just gone along with the negative flow with all the negatives results attached.

Have you ever heard or read something that seemed to make a big difference in your attitude?  It worked for a few days or even weeks or perhaps months?  THEN… SUDDENLY life stepped in and all that good stuff flew out the window?  I have… many times!

My intention is to live in a more peaceful state of being, to be serene if you will.  This all sounds great, believe me I know me… It’s going to take a lot of work, but I’ve come to the point where it is TOO PAINFUL NOT to make changes.  I no longer enjoy the things I was (AM) so passionate about ~ That’s a BIG CLUE!  Maybe it really is time to change focus… but I need to get to a peaceful place to make an educated decision.  It might not be the perfect solution, but doing it when I am so at unrest would be just adding to the confusion and disaster.

ROZ LEARNS PATIENCE

I’m even learning a bit of patience…  Yesterday afternoon I spent about three hours at a government office where I had to update some information and when it got to me — that’s right, it was MY TURN — the announcement came “the computers went down!” They said we could wait or come back.  It is a big trip for me, so I decided to remain until the end, with positive thoughts the computers would come back up just in time.  You know what… The computers NEVER came back up!

At one time I would have gotten all bent out of shape, saying:

  • Why me?
  • This always happens to me!
  • If I would have gone earlier
  • Just my luck, and on and on.

This time I said:  “Well with computers, one never knows. Who really knows if I would have gone earlier the computers or something else would have happened.”  We just don’t know from one moment to the other!  “Hindsight is 20/20, but real sight is uncertain!” ~Roz Fruchtman

I was not happy, but what could I do.  So I am deciding if I should go back today or wait until tomorrow ~ and do some other things that really need to be done today!  Could it be that I’m developing patience?  GO ROZ!

That’s it for now… The sun is shining and I can’t wait to get out in it!

TAKE TIME

Some of you have said you would love to take time to re-evauate, but you do not have the time with life stepping in all the time.  YOU are YOUR LIFE!  Is there a better reason than that?  EVEN IF you take a few moments each day to write a grateful list… writing makes it more real and is a REAL attitude changer ~ besides you can review it when you are not feeling so grateful! ;)

NOTHING TO BE GRATEFUL FOR?

You’re alive aren’t you?… Start with that!  IF you are reading this you can see.  IF you are listening to it you can hear, etc. etc.

A LAST THOUGHT

YOU are the MOST IMPORTANT Person in YOUR Life!
IF…YOU don’t take care of YOU…
YOU will be of NO USE  to YOU or anyone else!

Roz Shares: My 30-Day “Everything Roz” Journey Begins Today

No Gravatar

Today starts my 30 Day Journey of ”Everything Roz!”  Before this writing I was calling it just a much needed vacation, but it is much more than that.

You may ask, what on earth does “Everything Roz” mean?  Read on, you might relate more than you’d like to admit!

  • Did you ever feel like everything was just too much;
  • That you just did not want to take it anymore;
  • Like you felt like a doormat;
  • Like YOU were the only one who cared;
  • Like the very things you loved and cared about were no longer important and fun?

Well if you felt anything I described above your are not alone.  Some would call it burnout, but I think — at least in my case — there is more to it.

Have you ever heard the expression:  “To do the same thing and expect different results is crazy!”  Well it is…  IF things are not working, CHANGE THEM!

BUT, BUT, BUT, BUT…  change is hard. It’s hard to say goodbye to something you love or to doing something you love in a different way.  But you know what?  I bet it is freeing once the decision is made! I’m not there yet, but that is my mission!

I’ve decided to take 30 Days (or more) to just chill and take some time to decide what I really want to do and learn some essential software’s and programs along the way.  This is NOT just more learning, but learning things that will help me, help others!

Sometimes we are our own worst enemies ~ especially when we are lucky enough to make most of our own rules and the rules we DO make DO NOT serve us!

So today starts the period of evaluation for me, starting with:

  • My health
  • My apartment
  • Decisions about my business
  • Decisions how to use my skills and creativity to produce income while contributing to other’s needs

WHAT I DO NOT WANT

I just do not want to do the same things I’ve done up until now.  I’ve learned a lot and all that I learned is useful, but it is just not making me happy any longer.  In fact, if I were to be completely honest it has all become a drain (and that is putting it mildly).

SPECIFICS

I can’t be too specific yet as I want to clear my head to where my thoughts are not emotional, but logical.  Someone recently wrote me saying she called this period:  “The breakdown before the breakthrough!”  I could not have said it better myself!

So today starts with some generic chores that need to be taken care of, then…  who knows!

JOIN ME?

This is NOT a challenge – I’m riding this wave alone in my own way, BUT… why not JOIN ME and take the time you need!  Each of us are different and our requirements are different, but the one thing we have in common is the need to be healthy, happy, abundant, joyous and a contributor.

Roz Shares: New Year, New Me… OR, New Year, New You!

No Gravatar

Geez, my moods change like the weather lately.  I don’t like that…  I’m up one minute, down the next.  Sounds like a mental problem, yeah?  NO…

It all goes back to the saying “To do the SAME thing and expect DIFFERENT results is the definition of crazy!”  It may not be crazy, but it will slowly, but surely, drive you crazy!

I can honestly say “I Like Me, in fact… I LOVE the person I have become.  I am kinder, softer and more compassionate.  I could not always say that as I did not come from that kind of warm and fuzzy background.  It was something I did not even know I had within me.

Last year I heard Joyce Meyer say something that changed everything for me from that moment on.  I was already in a place of unrest for a long time, but I could not put my finger on it or better yet, I could not put it into words.  Joyce brought it all home for me.  She said something like: “If I lived to me 90 or 100, I’ve already lived more than half my life already and I made up my mind to make the last third the best and most productive!”  This is pretty close, but I’m paraphrasing here.

What I Say…

At 66, I’ve lived more years than I have left and I want the rest to be as joyous, fun filled, productive, honest, full of contribution and learning and so much more. I’m committed to making this happen, no matter what!

Life…

Life is fleeting, it can change in a split second.  Ask me how I know.  Here are a few examples:

  • Most recently… I had been out when a severe storm hit – in some places it was a tornado.  I managed to “VERY carefully” get home safely – after the lightening subsided. I walked into my apartment building’s lobby, sent a silent Thank You up to God for getting me home safe, and the next thing I knew I was not walking to the elevator, I slid to the elevator as I slipped on the marble floor ~ because of the lack of a runner!  Maybe it was a life lesson of how quickly things could change.  I was fortunate as things could have been much worse — even though I spent over 5 hours in the hospital emergency room and am still sore.
  •  Two years earlier I was coming back from a two mile walk on Mother’s Day.  I had just picked up a few healthy treats on the way home and was heading back for a night of relaxation and excitement watching the Finale of Celebrity Apprentice.  As I walked, I was feeling very good about myself and my recent accomplishment (my 2 mile walk and my decision to eat healthier – this had been a new decision),  when the next thing I knew I was laying on the concrete face-down with a bloody lip and much pain.  I tripped on an uneven sidewalk that is still not fixed more than two years later.  That time I was stuck in for most of the summer and fall and only went out to doctors and to shop for food.  Still I was lucky I did not kill myself the way I fell.  So I count my blessings and move on, glad to be here – even with the lingering back pain.   Once again, my point… Life can change in the blink of an eye!
  • One last example:  A little more than four years ago I was walking down the halfway of my apartment when suddenly I saw a “drape like curtain come across my right eye!”  I rubbed it, shook my head and finally it cleared and my vision was restored — but I was left with a shadow in the peripheral vision of the right eye.  Two weeks later I was operated on for a “detached retina!” By the time I had the surgery I had “only a slit” of vision in that eye.  Once again I was fortunate, my eyesight was restored through God’s favor and an excellent Retina Surgeon who I am sure God was watching over.

When I was growing up you only heard of old people dying.  Now people die at any age — even little babies and small children who had their entire lives ahead of them – whose only crime was lying in their crib resting or on their way home from school when a stray bullet struck them dead or through a drunk driver’s negligence.

Today I sit here feeling very positive as I look to a New Year full of new achievements and changes.  This is not just lip service.  It has become more painful to continue doing things the very same way as I’ve done before.  I deserve more.  I want more and I WILL HAVE more! AND… SO SHOULD YOU!!!

I share this with you ONLY becausae I NEVER consider myself unique in my feelings and life’s challenge.  I just might be a bit more outspoken and honest to admit it:  “It’s time to move on as I am not happy with the way things are!”

If we don’t take risks we will surely live a life of failure… failure to have the experience of growing and sharing life’s experiences with others. Through every challenge there is a life lesson.  It could be as simple as: “Now I know what does not work!” OR, “WOW… I DID IT!”

Join Me…

One does not have to wait until a New Year to begin again.  EACH SECOND you have breath is a NEW BEGINNING!

Roz Engages In A Time of Reflection and Self Truth

No Gravatar

With Rosh Hashanah right around the corner… My mind is filled with thoughts of reflection, repentance and the idea of starting new.

For those not familiar with the Jewish faith, Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year.  By tradition, Rosh Hashanah is a time to reflect on past sins and misdeeds.  It is a time to repent and ask forgiveness, forgive others and ultimately as with any new year, it is a time to begin again with a fresh and clean slate.

Last year I realized the person I needed to ask forgiveness of “was me!”  I don’t know about you, but sometimes I think we are our own worst enemies — I know I am.

So I’m beginning early… I’m on a mission to take my life back, relearn how to focus and concentrate on the things “I want for me!”

Getting Back to the Basics of a Normal and Ordinary Day by Being Destructively Productive

No Gravatar

Things just fell into place for me to write this Blog post today, so I’m supposing it is the right thing to do!  I even found an appropriate quotation by randomly opening my gratitude book– go figure!

“Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.
Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart.
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.
Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so.
One day I shall dig my nails into the earth,
or bury my face in the pillow,
or stretch myself taut,
or raise my hands to the sky and want,
more than all the world, your return.”
— Mary Jean Iron

If you’ve been following along… besides the normal daily drama, I’ve been going through lots of technical issues — and losing lots and lots of sleep and patience.  Like everything else, one thing gets solved, another takes its place.  The object is to roll with the punches and keep balanced, but  how does one do that?

For me it is to take a deep breath, walk away and get back to basics.  What is basic for me may not be basic for you, everyone is different.  For me basics means different things at different times.  I’m feeling spiritually balanced at this moment, so for me back to basics today was to have lunch and plop myself down in front of the TV to catch up with my favorite soaps.

WELL there is more…

I decided to do some decluttering and plow through a bunch of junk mail and papers I no longer needed.  That would have been mindless, but my shredder broke and until one goes on sale, I’m doing it the old fashioned way!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO…  I sat for one hour “manually” furiously ripping and tearing everything into shreds – being what I like to call “destructively productive.”

You know what?  By the time I got done I was feeling calmer and more than a little contented knowing I actually did something I’d been meaning to do — declutter and file — while destressing in the process! You gotta love it!

Had my spirit been bruised…  I’d have picked an appropriate spiritual CD set and took myself for a walk. OR, grabbed my camera and just walked until I found something to photograph!  Today, I just felt like being alone with me!

What Do You Do to Get Back On Track?

What do you do when you are feeling frustrated and need some de-stressing?

Roz Shares – Today is Friday The 13th, What Does That Mean to You?

This is a fun post that I hope will get some interesting comments.   What does Friday the 13th mean to you? Are you superstitious?

I suppose — at least for me — as one gets older and more realistic one becomes less superstitious (or do they)?

Although I won’t walk under a ladder if I can help it and am not too happy when a mirror breaks, I do my best to not give into the bad luck thing.

This is a silly one.  At one time…  If I found coins that were “tails up” I would NOT pick them up.  Yet IF I found bills, heads or tails did not matter.   TODAY… I pick it all up as long as it is money and consider it “good luck, whether heads of tails.”  After all, it was there, I found it…  “so isn’t that good luck?”  I once found a $20 bill getting off the bus.  Oddly enough earlier I had lost my own MTA (bus card) with almost $20 on it!

What does this Friday the 13th mean to me?

I’m hoping for a relaxing day.  My site was hacked earlier this week.  It’s fixed now, and I’m looking forward to some rest and relaxation — no matter what the date is.

IN FACT… I’m looking forward to lots of good luck!  What about you?

What are you thinking about this Friday the 13th?

Roz Shares – OMG My Site Has Been Hacked and I’m So Grateful?

No Gravatar

 OMG, My Website Was Hacked!!!

I started this Blog post Tuesday evening without a care in the world, well nothing major anyway, but it seems the Internet Gods had something else in store for me.

Lo in behold in the middle of writing I received three back-to-back emails from Google.  Why on earth would Google write to little old me?  Well… Google wrote to let me know my site had been hacked and they were putting up a notice each time someone clicked on my link through their search engine to alert visitors of a possible Malware attack.  Something like “BEWARE Malware ~ DO NOT WALK, RUN AWAY!” (Google DID NOT say this exactly, but it was close!)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

AUTHOR’S NOTE:  Now that it is fixed, I can afford to be humorous. This was serious and NOT a joke.

Google was VERY kind, professional and helpful with instructions on what to do AND how to get it FIXED QUICK!

THANK YOU Google ~ IF it were not for you I would NOT know there was a problem because somehow I could NOT see it.  My site looked perfectly normal TO ME!!!  That’s yet another story as it seems all browsers and AntiVirus software is not created equal!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

IS THIS FOR REAL? Am I A Victim of a Scammer, Am I Being Spammed or Worse Yet, Is This Phishing?

My first thought was:  Is this real?  OR, was I being phished, scammed or spammed?   FOR REAL ~ My website was hacked!

AUTHOR’S NOTE: I am thrilled to report… My site has been cleaned and is  now working properly.  Google worked their magic by removing the dreaded Malware Notice in less than 12 hours.  Amazing to say the least ~THANK YOU GOOGLE!!!

WHAT’S GRATITUDE GOT TO DO WITH IT?

How does this relate to gratitude?  Who would be grateful to have their website and business hacked?  Good questions…  You asked, I’ll tell!

My website ~ Say It With eCards at http://www.SayItWithEcards.com is a Judaic eCards website.  In less than four weeks Rosh Hashanah 5771, the Jewish New Year begins.  This is a busy time for my site.  It’s a time when the site gets the most visitors in a six week period!

Imagine if my site would have gotten hacked THEN rather than NOW? OMG!

So although I was not quite sure what would happen and how this hacking stuff would all shake out, I was grateful — IF it had to happen at all — it was BETTER NOW rather than THEN.

There is a lot more to follow on my site hacking adventure, so stay tuned.  I felt a little guilty falling behind on Wednesday’s Blog post as I AM a member of the Faith Barnard’s 30-Day Blogging Challenge on Facebook and planned on having my Wednesday’s Blog Post on Tuesday night to be ahead of the game for Wednesday!  As they say… “Better late than never!”
