Roz Shares – I Could Have Died Last Night ~ FOR REAL!

I am so grateful to be alive.  I could have died last night OR worse yet could have caused a fire…

I NEVER go near my bed when cooking, but last night I had the last 30 minutes to finish my turkey roast and decided to watch a little TV relaxing with my feet up.

With cooking timer in hand, I headed for the bedroom TV. I put the timer on the edge of my night table and put my feet up.

Lo and behold I awoke a few hours later  and remembered my turkey roast. I thought I had turned it off, and that it needed to be put in the fridge, but was amazed it was STILL baking. You see there was no smoke or any clue it was still cooking. The fire detector did NOT go off, cause there was NO SMOKE! I’ll be testing that in a while… I don’t want to wake up the building. I did get on a chair and push the button and it did go off… but then again there was ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKE to set it off ~I guess nothing burned except the turkey roast. That’s IS interesting!

My poor turkey roast was burnt to a crisp. I know I should have taken a picture. It’s in the trash.  I do not find this a social media event, I take it as a MESSAGE FROM GOD to wake up and smell the flowers or is it coffee. NOTHING else really matters anyway! Dead is Dead!!!

I guess there is something to be said for cooking/baking in TeFal. My baking pan still seems usable.  It’s soaking in the sink right now, but I was able to easily scrape the burnt pepper and onions from the bottom. Amazing to say the least.  I guess the water in the pan, plus peppers and onion might have helped.

Also I was baking in a 40-year old oven that is no where as hot as a new one. Whatever, things could have turned out a lot differently.

My eyes are burning, but I feel fine ~a little amazed that this happened in the first place as I AM VERY careful ~to a fault, always checking to make sure that everything is turned off! Right now… I am in my bedroom with the door closed, the windows open and the fan and air conditioning all going at the same time.  The house is not smokey, but a bit stuffy ~perhaps because the air was off.

I HEAR YOU GOD… ~ LOUD AND CLEAR!

NOTHING IS AS IMPORTANT as our lives, our health and our well being. All the other crap is just that… noise in the atmosphere. We get ONLY ONE chance to get this right!

Life is full of inconveniences. It is just the way it is! My problems are real, but nowhere as serious as many others in today’s world. I’m alive and relatively healthy, what else is there! Money comes and goes and can be made and lost a million times over, but in the natural… life cannot be recreated from death!

Oddly…  both my parents died in July. My mother died at the age of 66 ~just the age I am now!

Wednesday’s Quote and Inspiration ~ Enough is Enough

I’m traveling my own journey these days and it’s time to take stock and begin again.  That’s why I chose this quote today. Won’t you come along for the ride!

Wednesday’s Quote
“The secret to life is to know when enough is enough.” ~Dr. Vincent Ryan

While every single  moment is a “new beginning,” life is a one-way journey. One way in the fact, you cannot get the time back. This said… I believe it is a gift to know when enough is enough and when it is time to re-evaluate, make changes and begin again! It really would be a sin to trash the “gift of love and life God has entrusted to you!” Don’t ya think?

Perhaps it is because Rosh Hashanah — the Jewish New Year — begins  in about six weeks, that I feel compelled to re-evaluate my life, repent and ask forgiveness for my misdeeds and start fresh.  This exercise can be done by anyone, of any faith ~ after all, we all travel the same road of life – even though our destinations are different!

When we think of misdeeds and offenses we usually think  of committing them against another, however…  Last year, when re-evaluating I noticed that most of my misdeeds were committed against myself and I did this exercise in order to be able to “forgive myself!”

Saturday’s Inspirational Tid Bit – Be Grateful Things Are NOT Worse!

The last couple of days have really be treacherous – and all is related to how others have impacted my life in a negative way.  Unfortunately these others were in authoritative positions and I was at their mercy.  I always say:  “It’s the luck of the draw when you are calling Customer Service or Tech Support!”  Things just are not like they used to be when people cared about others they dealt with or knew their jobs inside out!

However, even though I’m feeling low and out of sorts, I promised myself I would write something everyday – at least for the next 30 days – to hopefully inspire and motivate, so here I am.

We “Always” Have Gratitude

No matter how frustrating the stuff I went through was, and no matter how much time I wasted and work I lost ~  “It could have been a lot worse!”  So I’d rather look on the bright side and appreciate that fact!  (NOTE: I am making complaints where I can, what happened was just NOT ok!)

Friday’s Quote – Impressor or Impactor of Others, Which Are You?

I am sure you have heard the phrase: “People like to do business with those they know like and trust!”  I like to add “respect” to that scenario!

The above is true, but how do people get to know, like and trust you?  It is NOT necessarily because you are the success you are… OR IS IT?

Friday’s Quote

Want to impress others? Talk about your successes. Want to impact others? Talk about your failures! ~ John C. Maxwell

So true… No one cares about your successes as much as they do about your failures.  And NO, it is NOT because they want to see you fail! I believe… IT IS because they can RELATE better to you, they feel closer to you as a person, because they know you’re like them.  You’ve failed too!  However, they ARE interested in how YOU OVERCAME your failures and disappointments and turned them into successes!

Hope For The Future

Your failures turned into successes give them hope, a hope and motivation to NOT GIVE UP because YOU DID NOT give up!

Thursday’s Quote – Silent Qratitude Isn’t Much Use to Anyone

I wanted to write something before shutting down for the night, but my tired mind is a complete blank.  I decided to check the Internet for a Quote on Gratitude and found the following Quote that is “so to my very thinking!”

Thursday’s Quote:

“Silent gratitude isn’t much use to anyone.”  ~G.B. Stern

I say this very often as I truly believe… “We DO NOT say Thank You enough!”  Don’t ever fool yourself into thinking people know! It does make a difference to let people know when they’ve helped us, made our day, made us smile or when they are just a delight to have as a friend or acquaintance!

Think about it…  It can be VERY lonely out there to feel like you DO NOT exist to others, WHEN… they may REALLY be grateful for you, but NEVER took a moment to let you know!  It works both ways… WE need to take a moment to let others know how grateful we are to have them in our lives!
